Office Week

This is the first week of work in which all the programs at schools have ended so everyone is working in the office all day, everyday. This also means that all of the materials from our programs are in our office. I now am surrounded by everything from board games to shovels, yoga mats to blenders. Today I have noticed that there seems to be some cabin fever setting in between the crowded office and being in it all day. People have been being even more ridiculous than normal. I am working on creating my reading and writing curriculum as well as planning out my cooking classes for the summer. Our summer camp starts the 25th and goes for 6 weeks. It is going to be busy, but should be a lot of fun. I am in charge of teaching our reading and writing class at the middle school camp as well as the cooking class. I am struggling to come up with fun reading and writing activities for the students since it is summer and they are not going to be very excited to do "school work". I am hoping to do something with Shel Silverstein poems and Chris Van Allsburg pictues/stories. If any of you have ideas for me I would love to hear them.

I heard back today from one of the places I interviewed with. Apparently they had over 220 applicants for their one position and I didn't get it. I guess I should be happy that I was interviewed and even asked to teach a lesson for them. This is still very frustrating though.

This weekend I am going to be helping out at the local farmer's market at the Kid Power booth. It is only a few hours on Saturday and should be fun. Corey is currently in Hawaii for work (has been there for a week now) and won't be back for another week. I have a key to his place though, and he has air conditioning so I may have to hangout there if it says as hot as it has been lately. Well it is nearly six and I am still at the office on a Friday (which shouldn't be allowed) so I am going to finish organizing my papers for next week and take off.
